BSEM has a long standing relationship with the Australasian College for Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). ACNEM, established in 1982, offers training in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. The ACNEM training focuses on practical application, featuring well-referenced modules presented by renowned clinicians, including BSEM members.
Designed for medical professionals seeking an understanding of Ecological/Functional Medicine principles, the online Foundation Level training encompasses two modules, each comprising eight video lectures with accompanying slides and notes. Lectures vary in complexity, suitable for both basic understanding and in-depth medical knowledge.
After joining BSEM and enrolling in the training, you will be given four months’ access to each module’s online content. Certification requirements include assigned readings, a case study, and a final online exam. You will be offered ongoing support and query resolution during training through ACNEM.
Completion leads to a Certificate of Participation, granting inclusion in the BSEM website’s Find A Practitioner List and access to peer group activities. Additional Training Days every six months offer tailored learning for UK practices.
